Hello beautiful house - you just leaped straight to the top of our Christmas list. We think West Brookhouse a Grade 2* listed house in Upwey just outside Dorchester, Dorset, has everything you could ever want (right down to once in a lifetime donkey rides at nearby Weymouth).
Suffice to say that this is a pretty phenomenal house, beautifully decorated inside, with a cottage, a coach house, an indoor swimming pool, a tennis court and one of the most romantic gardens we have ever seen (lake, streams, woodland walks).
Come and take a look.
Surrounded by the South Dorset Downs this is a truly gorgeous neck of the woods. Upwey is a village with many unusually grand houses, featured in Thomas Hardy but we're getting a seriously Jane Austen vibe.
Westbrook was built in 1620 with various Georgian features added a century later - think high ceilings, Venetian windows, mahogany staircase and many beautiful fireplaces.
So much space here - the house itself has nine bedrooms and five bathrooms, the cottage a further three.
You could invite all your relatives for Christmas and scarcely notice.
Talking of which we're hosting our Christmas lunch right here in this spectacularly pretty dining room with log fire, of course. We could have a good time in that dining room.
Obsessed with the grounds which are picture-book pretty - a loggia, that lake, a perfect terrace for al fresco lunches.
You're close to Dorchester here and Weymouth (home to the Crab House Cafe, one of our favourite restaurants) and the wonderful Jurassic Coast (Chesil Beach, Burton Bradstock, some of the nicest beaches in the world).
What can we say except it's a dream. Come on Santa, do your thing.
