Renegade Monk
Best possible present for your cheese lover. This intense, moreish rinded cheese has only been around for a few months but has already snaffled several awards including a Gold at the Global Cheese Awards. The brain child of Marcus Fergusson, a cheese fanatic, who began experimenting on Feltham’s Farm, his family homestead in Somerset and came up with this absolute beauty – pungent but creamy, like a very fruity Vacherin. It’s already got the Hugh FW stamp of approval, sells in farmers markets and good delis across Somerset, Devon and Dorset and is now being stocked in London (Rippon’s of Pimlico).  This is cheese to blow your mind. Perfect gift for a weekend visit too.

We love these earrings from jeweller Mirri Damer who is based in Falmouth and uses the Cornish coast as her design inspiration. Too cute. From £95

Conker Gin

It’s only 3 years old but Dorset’s Conker Gin has a devoted following and you’ll find it in the hippest bars and restaurants. The gin is made from ten botanicals and distilled in Dorset’s first gin distillery. So delicious, in fact, that’s it’s designed to be served on its own poured over ice. New to Conker is the Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur made from Dorset roasted beans and sold in a gorgeous black bottle. Espresso martini anyone?

The Writing Room, Lyme Regis

We'll take anything from this most gorgeous shrine to all things writing, housed in a beautiful little Georgian building in Lyme, but, since you're asking, how about a handmade exercise book, £12? Or perhaps the adorable Herb Lester playing cards, each one emblazoned with a phrase in English, French or Spanish. Perfect travelling companion, we say.
