Spotlight: Slader's Yard

What is it?
Cool gallery, contemporary furniture store and cafe in West Bay, Dorset that is somehow much more than the sum of its parts, a true one off.

What's the story?
The gallery was set up 9 years ago by Anna Powell and showcases her husband Petter Southwall's exquisite handmade Norwegian furniture. Slader's Yard reflects her passions - well chosen local art,  beautiful food with Moorish and Mediterranean influences and using local artisan ingredients. Seafood is a speciality. Slader's Yard is housed in a Georgian rope warehouse, a beautiful building of exposed brick walls and wooden floors which is flooded with natural light. It's just a few minutes away from the beach but hidden away.

And there's more?
Yes. Slader's hosts events - think poetry slams, literature talks, delicious dinners with live jazz. The vibe is esoteric and convivial, an artistic haven right by the sea.
