Jo Whiley hosting a garden party, fashion show and secret performances from The Staves and Rae Morris was a highlight at Somersault Festival.
During torrential rain on Friday we drank champagne, ate scones with clotted cream and counted ourselves lucky to be among the 150 guests who got to hear The Staves singing three tracks unplugged ahead of their mainstage slot supporting Laura Marling.
Jo Whiley was exactly as she is on her show - natural, funny and with a talent for immediately putting her guests at ease so that both The Staves and Rae Morris were chatting freely and with the informality as if they were in your kitchen.
The fashion show was curated by dress designer Minna
and milliner Siana Yewdall
- a perfect pairing as the photos below show.
On Saturday the sun shone for Rae Morris and her electrifying voice blew us all away.
