Loving the combination of the Hemsley sisters at River Cottage, healthy eating gurus meet iconic sustainable homestead in East Devon.
The sisters, Jasmine and Melissa are hosting two events at River Cottage. On 15 July, An Evening with Hemsley & Hemsley, features a Q and A with the sisters followed by a delicious sounding 3 course dinner. The menu, curated by Jasmine and Melissa and cooked by head chef Gelf Anderson includes canapés such as the sisters' famous baked chicken liver mousse and duck tamarind lettuce wraps, roasted bone marrow with watercress salad, grilled fish with braised fennel , lemon and rosemary and chocolate molten pots with summer berries.
During the day (15 July) the sisters are offering a one day cookery course – Hemsley & Hemsley Cook School The Art of Eating Well featuring recipes from their best selling book.
They will talk about their healthy eating philosophy which is gluten and refined sugar free and prioritises gut health and demonstrate some of their favourite dishes including slow cooked Sri Lankan curry with cauliflower rice, quinoa and roasted vegetable salad with brazil nut pesto and those molten chocolate pots. After a morning of cooking, talking and learning their secrets, there’s a 3 course lunch. We're big fans of the River Cottage Cookery School which always combines insightful cooking advice with a large element of fun and this course ticks all boxes including guilt free eating so it's a win win.
The one day cooking course costs £240 and the dinner is £70 per head. More information here An Evening with the Hemsleys
