Doors are about to open on our favourite film festival, the brilliant From Page to Screen in Bridport (8-12 April).
The only UK festival to focus on novel to screen adaptions provides the chance to see an inspiring mix of old classics alongside new releases such as The Theory of Everything and the Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
You’ll find the original 1940s version of The Grapes of Wrath starring Henry Fonda, Bicycle Thieves a father and son post war tale set in Italy (1948) and the famous teddy boy movie, The Damned from 1963 with Oliver Reed.
Paddington is here, of course and last year’s The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch.
The actress Emily Watson, who plays Stephen Hawkings’s mother in law in The Theory of Everything gives a talk before the film screens on Saturday and author Deborah Moggach takes a screenwriting class.
