Christmas Old Fashioned from The Talbot Inn in Mells 50 ml Jack Daniels Honey Dash Angostura bitters ( we use home made bitters which has a hint cloves) brown sugar cube Orange peel cinnamon stick Ice Method Put a napkin on top of rocks glass and place a brown sugar cube on top. Soak the sugar cube with bitters, then place in the glass. Muddle sugar until broken. Add a splash of Jack Daniels honey and a cube of ice and stir with the cinnamon stick. Keep adding a small amount of spirit and ice until you have used the 50ml of Jack Daniels. Serve with the cinnamon stick and finish with a big peel of orange.
Christmas Martini from the Red Lion in Babcary 1oz expresso 1 1/2pz Absolut Vodka 1 1/2oz Kahlua coffee liqueur 1oz white creme de cacao Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake vigorously and strain into martini glass. It should be somewhat frothy The Scarlet Hotel in Mawgan Porth Tarquin's Sparkling Negroni: 1/4 Tarquin's Gin, 1/4 red vermouth, 1/4 Campari, 1/4 prosecco. Build in an ice filled rocks glass, and garnish with an orange slice Tarquin's Cosmopolitan: Tarquin's Gin Triple Sec Cranberry Juice Fresh lemon/lime juice Fill the cocktail shaker with ice, and then add all the above ingredients, shake the ingredients together and then serve in a Martini glass, with twist of orange rind to garnish. Firecracker from The Grosvenor Arms in Dorset 2 pepperdews, pinch of cinnamon, 20ml sugar syrup, 35ml brandy and 50ml apple juice. Muddle the pepperdews, the cinnamon and the sugar syrup then add the brandy and apple juice, shake and strain into and martini glass.
