As a devotee of its hero product the organic Triple Rose Oil, Somerset-based OV Naturals
has been on my radar for some time. But it was only this week that I met up with OV founder Lucy Stevens and experienced one of her legendary facials.
Lucy and OV Naturals HQ is based in the picturesque village of Shepton Beauchamp, a rural idyll which also boasts one of the best cafes I’ve been to and a pottery centre. This is what I love most about the West Country, those unexpected hidden gems you suddenly stumble across.
Lucy, a trained aromatherapist, offers bespoke massages and facials tailored to your needs, using her exquisite handmade organic face and body oils.
This facial, a combination of cleansing, exfoliation, masks and deep moisturising alongside hot stones and continual massage, was the most intensely relaxing beauty treatment I think I've ever experienced. My only thought in a zen-like hour and a quarter was that I might not be able to get off the bed and drive home afterwards.
An expert at alleviating stress and restoring youthful looking skin, Lucy also took a skin reading and offered great aftercare advice (completely unlinked to her product range) at the end of the facial.
What can I say except that five days later my skin is still glowing like a teenager’s - I don’t think I’ve ever had a facial which delivered such amazing results.
The OV Naturals range features 5 facial oils including the best-selling Triple Rose (addictively good, my secret weapon), Rose Geranium, Orange Blossom, Infused Marigold and Tea Tree.
The Tea Tree oil works brilliantly on spot-prone teens, Triple Rose is ideal for older skin.
There are body oils too and coming soon a range of natural, artisan scents.
The organic beauty range can be ordered online but you’ll need to drive to Shepton Beauchamp for one of those epic facials. And, believe me, it’s worth it.
An hour's bespoke facial or massage is £39.
