Growing from Seeds - the Ultimate Gardening Porn?

From Vogue House to deepest Devon our own fashionista turned gardenista talks Spring...

The days are getting longer.  As I wait for my tulips and Eremerus that I bought in Amsterdam’s Flower Market last New Year to start flowering, my gardening bug is kicking in as it does every year at this time.

Various Seed Catalogues - ‘ gardeners porn ‘ - are starting to arrive in the post, and my head is spinning with ideas and possibilites as to what I can do in the vegetable patch and borders.

A tiny investment in a packet of seeds can produce rows of lettuces and peas, and drifts of annuals.  From a £1.99 pack of Leucanthemum vulgar, I have grown so many of the lovely ox-eye daisies that I have huge blocks of them, and have given loads to friends.  Nothing is better than getting a ton of new plants from a tray of seeds!

At the moment I have seeds in my greenhouse.  You can sow directly into the borders but I have so often weeded them out by mistake that I think it is better to start in the greenhouse and transfer them when they are big enough to see.

Growing from seeds : Better than a new Prada handbag and they don’t just last for one season!
