I hear there are people out there who actually enjoy Christmas shopping, they start in August and surf the high streets casually dropping well chosen gifts into their eco friendly shoppers.
For the rest of us, the key I think, is either to spend hours online (sooo boring) or to head for a place where you can combine ticking off the present list with some serious self gifting/indulgence. I’d recommend checking out Kilver Court’s
Christmas Room in Shepton Mallet which is packed out with goodies from exquisitely packaged bath sets to chefs aprons, Nordic interiors and hand blown glass baubles for the tree. Even better you can recover with spectacular tea from Comins Tea House in a vintage cup and homemade cakes sitting by the log burning fire in the café.
And that’s before you’ve hit the designer emporium where you can buy Joseph, Penelope Chilvers and Chintl and Parker, Bamford and Parka London to name but a few. Good stocking fillers here – Sunspel boxers, cashmere socks, Sophie Conran kitchenware. I reckon you could nail the entire list in less than an hour and have time for a glass of champagne afterwards. Beats Oxford Street any day.
